Hyundai Veloster N

Image
(Courtesy: Gear Patrol) The Hyundai Veloster N… a car that turns you into a kid. (Courtesy: Motor Trend) The Veloster N comes from Hyundai’s 10-year-old Veloster. The 2021 Veloster N uses the second generation styling of the Veloster lineup. The Veloster N in previous years was standard/only available with a 6-speed manual transmission, but for 2021, Hyundai offers an optional 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car, in my opinion, is definitely more fun in the 6-speed manual, because it’s pure control over the car, but from what I’ve heard, the 8-speed automatic isn’t that bad, allowing you to take full control with the paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. A plus of the automatic transmission variant, is that it allows an ‘overboost’, which can temporarily increase the torque by 18 LB-FT (taking the number up to a possible 278 LB-FT of torque). Along with this improvement, the previous ‘Performance Package’ that cost $2,100 is now incorporated into the 2021 m

Chevrolet Camaro

Image
(Courtesy: TurboSquid) The Chevrolet Camaro is the main competitor of the Ford Mustang. They've battled for the title of 'The Best Pony Car' for  many  years. But, since I've already covered the Mustang, time for its rival. (Courtesy: pinterest.com) The Camaro took birth in the 1960s after the release of the Ford Mustang took the American market by storm. Chevrolet did have models out like the Corvair and the Chevy II Nova, but none of those cars cut the mark that the Mustang had set. So, with their knowledge on front-engine, rear-wheel drive cars, Chevy set off. The new 2021 Camaro is a pretty good car, not only from its styling but its features. It's amazingly precise steering, powerful brakes, and smooth suspension (with adjustability). The Camaro comes with many engine types, having available a 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder, or 8-cylinder. There are also many trims of the Camaro; 1LS - Available with a 275 HP, 2.0L Turbo V4 engine capable of making 295 LB-FT of torqu

Military Humvee

Image
(Courtesy: wikipedia.org) The High Mobility Multipurposed Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), but let's just stick with the colloquial term: The Humvee. The Humvee was created for the US military (used by other countries as well) by American Motors (AM) General, as a vehicle that could take troops most literally anywhere. The Humvee wasn't created to fight on the front lines of warfare, but just as a personnel and light cargo carrier. However, as you can see above, the Humvee base could be mounted with turrets, and some Humvees even have rocket launchers... AM General didn't think about comfort or speed when it came to the Humvee, putting a 6.5L V8 that makes about 150 HP. I don't know if you can tell, but that's slow . The max speed of any stock Humvee is 70 MPH. But, something the Humvee did focus on, was ground clearance. Due to lifting the axle into the truck, the Humvee was possessing 16 inches of stock ground clearance. To provide more mobility, the truck was fitted wi

Dodge Charger

Image
(Courtesy: carscoops.com) Perhaps the most usable muscle car on the market, the Dodge Charger is a remarkable landmark of modern muscle. The Charger maintains the reputation of older sedans, that were all standardized with the fun ol' RWD. Although the Charger is stock with a 3.6L, 292 HP V6 engine, Dodge gives us something to cheer about, an optional AWD and two 8 cylinder engines; 392 Hemi - (comes with the 'Scat Pack') with 485 HP and 475 LB-FT of torque 5.7L Hemi - (comes with the R/T) with 370 HP and 395 LB-FT of torque Although the Dodge Charger is a bulky car, its mesmerizing to look at and a signature of American car culture. Owning a Charger means having everyone around you on the highway driving real carefully, because the Charger is also one of the most popular high-speed pursuit vehicles for the police. Toyota Tacoma

Image
(Courtesy: tacomaworld.com) The Toyota Tacoma, one of the most reliable trucks from one of the most reliable companies. These trucks are known for their affordability, off-road capability, and surprisingly their mileage of 20 MPG city and 24 MPG highway. A fascinating thing that I found about Toyota's line up, is their yearly themes. Every year, the Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, and Sequoia have a themed color, my favorite so far being between the baby blue like the Tacoma above or the olive/army green below. The Tacoma is available in a AWD, RWD or FWD with either the 2.7L V4 making around 159 HP and the 3.5L V6 making around 278 HP. (Courtesy: reddit.com) The Tacoma is known for its good driver assistance technology, but unfortunately its is also known for its cheap-feeling plasticky interior as well as its tiny back seats and an uncoordinated automatic shifting.  The trucks are available in the following models: SR - priced at $27,425 SR5 - priced at $29,215 TRD Sport - priced at $34

Jeep Wrangler

Image
(Courtesy: motorbiscuit.com) Jeep. The company that has brought world-class off-road capability for around 78 years. When you hear the word "Jeep" there's not only the company that comes to mind, but a styling of SUVs that took the car market by storm, in the States, and out, for example India's Mahindra Thar. (Courtesy: motorauthority.com) The Wrangler took life from the all-famous Willy's Jeep which was used greatly in World War II. The Jeep back in the time was known for its capability of getting you anywhere you wanted, as well as being reliable, more than any all terrain SUV at the time. But, moving on from my habits of preaching history, let's move on to what matters, the 2021, Jeep Wrangler. (Courtesy: newsopener.com) The 2021 Jeep Wrangler keeps the styling that they have been using for many years now, but they made one major change. The brand new 4xe, a plug in hybrid, that can take the Jeep (combined with a turbocharged four-cylinder producing 375

Mazda MX-5 Miata

Image
(Courtesy: carvana.com) The Mazda Miata, the car that really smiles back. Over the 30 years of production for this car, Mazda never lost its sense of pure driver delight. They made a car that just begs for you to push its limit, its small but enjoyable 181 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine combined with a crisp 6-speed manual transmission, you're ready for a day out where the sun counts. Alright that's enough of my cheesiness, lets get some history rolling. (Courtesy: CNET.com) The Mazda Miata was first revealed to the world at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. Throughout its now 32 years of manufacturing, the Miata has gone through many changes, both in power and looks. The Miata NA, ND, LE, M are just a few versions of the cars progressive betterment over the years. Although the power of this automobile has increased since its release, my favorite Miata is not for the power, but for the looks. The pop-up headlight, Mazda MX-5 NA. It's old yes, but ahh look at that... (cue the dre

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Image
(Courtesy: Manav Gulia/Your Dose of Speed) The Shelby GT350 Mustang is the true definition of 'car and driver'. With that dreamy design, the GT350 comes in with a powerful 5.2 liter - V8 engine. This amazing muscle machine makes around 526 horsepower, revving up to a supercar like sound at 8,250 RPM, and the best part? This car is only available with a manual gearbox, how much better does that get?! The GT350 has an even more powerful, track-oriented brother, the GT350R (as shown above) consisting of more aerodynamic components, light weight (and EXPENSIVE) carbon fiber wheels, and a track-ready suspension. Although the GT350 is the road going, more comfortable version, it also has suspension tuned to handle any corner at the race track and any turn on your favorite canyon road. Now, what's a fast car if it can't slow down? According to Ford's website, "The brakes on Shelby GT350 are the most powerful brakes ever put on a production Mustang... with six-piston
