Dodge Charger

Perhaps the most usable muscle car on the market, the Dodge Charger is a remarkable landmark of modern muscle.

The Charger maintains the reputation of older sedans, that were all standardized with the fun ol' RWD. Although the Charger is stock with a 3.6L, 292 HP V6 engine, Dodge gives us something to cheer about, an optional AWD and two 8 cylinder engines;
  • 392 Hemi - (comes with the 'Scat Pack') with 485 HP and 475 LB-FT of torque
  • 5.7L Hemi - (comes with the R/T) with 370 HP and 395 LB-FT of torque
Although the Dodge Charger is a bulky car, its mesmerizing to look at and a signature of American car culture. Owning a Charger means having everyone around you on the highway driving real carefully, because the Charger is also one of the most popular high-speed pursuit vehicles for the police.

The Charger is available in many other models other than the interceptor.
  • Dodge Charger SXT - $31,490
  • Dodge Charger GT - $33,490
  • Dodge Charger R/T - $38,490
  • Dodge Charger Scat Pack - $43,165
  • Dodge Charger Scat Pack Widebody - $49,160
All Chargers come with a standard 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Charger sedan is yet to be fitted with a manual gearbox, but the 8-speed is no less fun, with the crazy 3.8 second sprint to 60 MPH with the Scat Pack.

The Charger for its power, has an impressive mileage of 26 MPG highway for the V6 and a 25 MPG highway for the V8s. The Charger also doesn't disappoint with storage space, as it has a fairly large trunk and many small compartments. The cons start there with the back seats being spacious in leg room, but not in general passenger space. The Charger, like all new cars is fitted with technological advancements to help you safely enjoy your car. The technology of the V8 derived from Dodge's NASCAR experience is definitely a success due to its beautiful roar and speed, but the technology couldn't fix the ride quality, due to those giant 20" wheels, and the numb steering.

But as I always say, negatives aside, the Charger is just a tank of a muscle car, with one major benefit... you can take your family to the drag strip, and still get a 12 second quarter mile.
